While passing through France a few years ago, we spontaneously drove through the Burgundy region, where we were immediately charmed by the bright yellow fields of rapeseed and sunflowers, rolling landscapes, and wooded ridges. We unwound and enjoyed everything and nothing in particular. A seed was planted, and when the opportunity came to “try something different,” we didn’t hesitate. We searched for a cottage, found one, and renovated it ourselves.

We learned to appreciate the charms of the French countryside, where simplicity is key!
